In one of our earlier posts Using a Blog to Monetize Twitter, we showed how a blog could help you increase your Twitter Monetization many folds. In this post, we will highlight a few ways a WordPress blog can be modified to help your Twitter Monetizing plans.
Plugins are additional software that can be easily plugged into your WordPress blog to add extra features & functionality. WordPress is designed in a way to accept any such plugins & hence can be easily modified to work for your business needs.

The First Step to Effectively Combine Twitter & WordPress for Monetization is to have your own WordPress website:
- You would need to install WordPress. Its very easy, but in case you need help, reach out to Creative Themes Design Services for help & you could have your website or blog set up quickly
- You will need a nice WordPress Theme. Although any theme will do, you can download one from Creative Themes Design website (the demo site is WordPress Themes for Small Business Themes)
Now that your Business website is set up, here are some Tips to Combine Twitter & WordPress Effectively:
- show your Twitter profile badge prominently. You want more people to Follow you on Twitter
- Use plugins to send your blog posts & links to your blog posts to your Twitter profile (Click here to see a list of Free Twitter WordPress Plugins)
- Use online Web 2.0 sites like FriendFeed or TwitterFeed to send updates from your blog or Facebook to Twitter. These services are helpful if you have more than 1 Twitter profile or Facebook Pages
- There are several plugins that also show your Twitter or Facebook status profiles & updates on your blog
- Use Tweet sharing tools like Topsy & TweetMeme to let people Re-Tweet your blog posts (Facebook has a Like & Share Button for this purpose). It is always a good idea to have these sharing buttons clearly visible to the reader – use big buttons if necessary & have them on the top of the posts
- If you are reading someone else’s blog or website & wish to leave a comment, use your Twitter profile link in your signature
- Update your blog regularly
The plugins will automatically send your blog posts to your Twitter profile. Though this sort of an automated tweets are good to a certain extent to keep your followers’ interest as well as for search engines to find your blog & Twitter profile, we recommend using Twitter for your usual communication & networking on Twitter.
We also recommend that you review any service that you use to automate tweets before you use them. You do not want to use any of these plugins or automated software that violates Twitters TOS!
